Arrival over Land
Lossiemouth town is reached from Inverness to the west or
Aberdeen to the east via the A96. Lossiemouth is
approximately 40 miles from Inverness and 65 miles from
Aberdeen.
Lossiemouth is 5 miles to the north of the county seat of
ELGIN, and is well signposted on the bypass, which routes
to the north side of the town. The Marina is easily spotted
once you recognise the sea!
Ample car parking is available at both basins.
A bus time table for the local area is available here
Waypoint 57.43.38N 003.16.09W positions you on a bearing 277° to the Marina entrance with about
one third of a mile to go. The leading lights are soon picked up.
As you get closer to the entrance, the stream from the river Lossie which flows north, may cause
disturbed water when the wind is from north round to south east during spring tides. With these
same wind directions above F6, the entrance can be quite hazardous.
Take particular care entering the east basin due to the 180° turn required on entry and the restricted
visibility of boats exiting.
Both basins are regularly dredged and yachts drawing 1.4m or less can usually operate with a little
care free of tidal constraints.
Contact the Marina Manager on Ch12 or 01343 813066 prior to arrival to arrange
berthing.
